Throughout the book, he sheds light onto different ways people can tap into this feeling and how to most effectively use it. Mihaly speaks to “Flow” as relating more to the feeling than simply the action. Similar to watching Michael Jordan executing his best game or listening to Beethoven playing his famous sonata. He describes “flow” as the optimal experience that encompasses precise concentration and a feeling of complete engrossment into an intellectual or physical task. Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi does an excellent job breaking down what “Flow” is all about and how everyone can use this practice in their daily lives. We’ve placed this book at the #1 spot because it gives the idea on “flow” a solid foundational framework for overall understanding. Flow: The Psychology of Optimal Experience teaches how, by ordering the information that enters our consciousness, we can discover true happiness and greatly improve the quality of our lives.” ![]() In this new edition of his groundbreaking classic work, Csikszentmihalyi demonstrates the ways this positive state can be controlled, not just left to chance. During flow, people typically experience deep enjoyment, creativity, and a total involvement with life. “Psychologist Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi's famous investigations of "optimal experience" have revealed that what makes an experience genuinely satisfying is a state of consciousness called flow. Flow: The Psychology of Optimal Experience (Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi) ![]() The numerical results reveal the decrease of the critical nucleus size and the corresponding work of formation of a critical nucleus with the increase of the distance to axisymmetric axis for the same numbers of solvent atoms and solute atoms/particles.1. We perform numerical analysis of the homogeneous nucleation of a sucrose microcluster in a representative volume element of an aqueous solution, which flows through a circular microchannel. For the formation of a critical solid nucleus, the contributions from both the kinetic energy and the strain energy are generally negligible. Using this analytical equation, an analytical solution of the critical nucleus size for the formation of a critical liquid nucleus is found. An analytical equation is derived for the determination of the critical nucleus size. The contributions of the configuration entropy from the momentum-phase space and the kinetic energy and strain energy of a microcluster are incorporated in the calculation of the change of the Gibbs free energy from a flow state without a microcluster to a flow state with a microcluster. In this work, we investigate the effects of fluid flow (low Reynolds number flow) on the homogeneous nucleation in a circular microchannel in the framework of the classical nucleation theory. Nucleation in a dynamical environment plays an important role in the synthesis and manufacturing of quantum dots and nanocrystals.
